[[Let's Sing!!]]

Great Pumpkin is Comin' To Town
(Sing to the tune "Santa Claus is Coming to Town")

Oh, you better not shriek, you better not groan,
You better not howl, you better not moan;
Great Pumpkin is coming to town!

He's going to find out from folks that he meets,
Who deserves tricks and who deserves treats;
Great Pumpkin is coming to town!

He'll search in every pumpkin patch, haunted houses far and near;
To see if you've been spreading gloom, or bringing lots of cheer!

So you better not shriek, you better not groan,
You better not howl, you better not moan;
Great pumpkin is coming to town!!

[[HappY H4LLoWeeN]]

It's already midnite, so it's Halloween Day. Guys, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
So, how will u guys celebrate this day? Any plans? Ho Ho Ho... TRICK OR TREAT?

Btw, anyone got any idea about the history of this halloween day? Why does it fall on 31st Oct? I was a bit curious about it (apart that Halloween Day = My B'day too), so I checked it out. Hee.. Hee.. Hee.. Take a look then...

"Many people think Halloween originated with the Christian holiday of All Hallows Eve which was to honor all the Saints that had died in the past year. This is not true, however. All Hallows Eve was celebrated in May when it was originated by the Catholic church, but in 834 AD it was moved from May to October in order to combine it with an ancient Druid festival in October. At this point in history, the Catholic church was growing and trying to convert the masses. The Church felt it would be easier to convert the masses to Christian worship by combining the existing pagan celebrations with traditional Christian holidays, feasts or celebrations. The people still had their holiday, yet it was celebrated in the name of the Church. Halloween originally had nothing to do with any Christian celebration.

So what was the original pagan holiday which began what is celebrated as Halloween today? Halloween began some 2,000 years ago among the Celts. Ancient Druids who lived in what is now England, France, Scotland and Wales celebrated the Vigil of Samhain honoring their god, Samhain, lord of the dead. This holiday was celebrated on the Celtic New Year’s Eve which falls on our October 31st. These people believed that on this day the wicked spirits of the dead came back to wreak havoc and mayhem on the living. The holiday and all that took place was designed to appease Samhain as well as the spirits of these wicked dead......"

[['DiLeMMa']]

Who will u save?!?!? I got this forwarded e-mail from my fren, and I'm thinking that I should share this with ya'll. Heehee...

A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in use while the other disused. Only one child played on the disused track, the rest on the operational track.
The train came, and you were just beside the track interchange. You could make the train change its course to the disused track and saved most of the kids. However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the disused track would be sacrificed. Or would you rather let the train go its way?

Let's take a pause to think what kind of decision we could make.............
How do you decide?
No cheating!!!
What is your decision?

Most people might choose to divert the course of the train, and sacrifice only one child. You might think the same way, I guess.

Exactly, I thought the same way initially because to save most of the children at the expense of only one child was rational decision most people would make, morally and emotionally. But, have you ever thought that the child choosing to play on the disused track had in fact made the right decision to play at a safe place? Nevertheless, he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant friends who chose to play where the danger was.

This kind of dilemma happens around us everyday. In the office, community, in politics and especially in a democratic society, the minority is often sacrificed for the interest of the majority, no matter how foolish or ignorant the majority is, and how farsighted and knowledgeable the minority is. The child who chose not to play with the rest on the operational track was sidelined. And in the case he was sacrificed, no one would shed a tear for him.

The friend who forwarded me the story said he would not try to change the course of the train because he believed that the kids playing on the operational track should have known very well that track was still in use and that they should have run away if they heard the train's sirens. If the train was diverted, that lone child would definitely die because he never thought the train could come over to that track!

Moreover, that track was not in use probably because it was not safe. If the train was diverted to the track, we could put the lives of all passengers on board at stake! And in your attempt to save a few kids by sacrificing one child, you might end up sacrificing hundreds of people to save these few kids.

While we are all aware that life is full of tough decisions that need to be made, we may not realize that hasty decisions may not always be the right one.

"Remember that what's right isn't always popular... and what's popular isn't always right."

Everybody makes mistakes, and that is why they put erasers on pencils.

So, who will you save then?? Sometimes in our life, we will encounter this kind of situation, won't we?? It's just so hard to decide.....

[[Chem-is-trY]]

Ho Ho Ho... I'm back again!!! Juz finished my dinner. Anyway, nothin much to say, juz want to share this stuff, which I got from my chemistry lecture, with u guys. Hope ya'll like it! =]

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid term. The answer by one student was "so profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law,(gas cools off when it expands and heats up when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate that souls are moving into Hell and the rate they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially.
Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:
  1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.
  2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa Morrison during my freshman year, "...that it will be a cold day in Hell before I go out with you," and take into account the fact that I still have not succeeded in having a date with her, then #2 cannot be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and will not freeze.

The student received the only "A" given.

So, what u guys think about this? Is he genius or ... ?

Ah... wat a nice lunch I had juz now - beef steak, beans plus mashed potato. Hehe.. new lunch menu for me, otherwise I'll still be eating wheat bread with chicken salad, peanut butter, strawberry jam, or 'Blue Band' with 'Ceres'. =] I have eaten those kind of stuffs since last January, kinda bored already. I can't really buy food in the college cafetaria too 'coz it's too expensive (or am I too stingy). U know wat? My fren told me that a slice of pizza cost her US$5, imagine that!! It's not like Han Chiang (my former high school), got so many stalls selling nice food. Ho Ho Ho.. Rite guys (frenz from Han Chiang)? ^.^ Really mizz the food over there... *sigh*

It's Friday - time to start enjoying the weekend!! He He He... I had two exams in this week - History n Chemistry. Luckily I'm not having them in the same day. I'll be if it's so. I had my History test last Wednesday, and I think that I didn't do pretty well on the test. My bad!! Chem...Chem...Chemistry, my preferable science subject, I had it today. I did finished all the questions (some of them were wrong), but I still think I need more time doing it. There's a guy in my class who finished all the 11 questions in just half an hour. Whoa!! Guess he must be really genius.

*sigh* Three more hours to go b4 I can go home today! Still hangin around in the school 'coz I have no Chemistry lab today. I'm feelin a bit tired n start imagining if only now I were in my bed hugging my little cute Mickey. Wat a day!!! Speaking of the day, it's really getting cold today - 14 degree Celcius. I have wore three layers of clothes, but still I feel really cold walking outside the building. Guess I have to wear more clothes and thicker jacket in the next three months. =] It's better to have a cold weather here rather than the hot hot weather over there in Medan. Ha.. Ha.. Ha..

Ok then... guess I can do something else rather than sitting in front of the computer. Hmm.. maybe I can in the study room and keep counting the time until it's time to go HOME. Hehehe...

Start counting the time ... 1... 2... 3...

Still counting... tic... tic... tic...

Walking back to the study room...

tic... tic... tic... time is still ticking.........

White Chicks is a really really funny movie, u r gonna laugh from the moment u start watching the movie till the end. ^_^ Guess u guys have watched this movie, huh? It's a three-months-ago-movie, rite? U guys know why I waited till now to watch the movie? 'Coz it has already got into the $1 movie cinema. I'm such a stingy person, huh? Hehe.. But, it's worth to wait for about 3 months. ^_^ On the other hand, Will Smith is pretty cool in I, Robot, always wearing black -- juz like Men In Black. Hehe... I like his Audi car, wish that was mine. Ho Ho Ho... ^.^ Will we get robots too in the future?!

Whoa! It's almost 1 am over here, no wonder my eyes are getting smaller and smaller. *.* Guess I can't concentrate in writing a lot of things today, and I'm chatting with my mom too while I wrote this stuff. Hehe.. Gotta continue chattin wif my mom, will be rite back soon! Ciao...

[[Secret is part of my life..]]

Your Element is Night. You're a loner who is very creative but never show your work to anyone. You may smile a little but sadness or loneliness surround you and other can feel it when they're near you. You have a dark or unusual beauty that makes you mysterious and you probably have a lot of secrets that you've never told anyone. You're beauty is intriging and unorthidox but the real thing that makes you special is your eyes. Something in them makes them like Diamonds in the Rough.
What's Your Element? (for gurls) (PICS) brought to you by Quizilla

This one is quite true.. esp. with the mysterious and secrets parts but definitely not the eyes part. Haha.. ^_^

I am The Hermit

The Hermit often suggests a need for time alone - a period of reflection when distractions are limited. In times of action and high energy, he stands for the still center that must be created for balance. He can also indicate that withdrawal or retreat is advised for the moment. In addition, the Hermit can represent seeking of all kinds, especially for deeper understanding or the truth of a situation. "Seek, and ye shall find," we have been told, and so the Hermit stands for guidance as well. We can receive help from wise teachers, and, in turn, help others as we progress.

Hehehe.. keep doing these kinds of quizzes! I'm a 'wu liao' person, huh? ^_^

You're a Spring. You usually are very close-knit with your friends and value everyone freidnship you have. You're a real people person and everyone loves how friendly you are. You're good with encouraging people but usually don't like to be the center of attention. You are a social butterfly and probably are in several circles of friends but it's just because you're well liked and you make people comfortable. You're both fun and wise but you are very realistic about life.

[[GreeN - GreeN - GReeN]]

HASH(0x88e10f4)

You are green. Perhaps one of the most balanced of
all the colors. By balanced, I mean balanced
in both bad and good parts. Let me elaborate:
You're a natural, and somewhat superficial
person. You're extremely generous, but, to add
to the confusion, you're frugal and stingy.
You're a forgiving, but jealous person. You're
imaginative, but still logical. At sometimes,
you're a complete neat-freak, and other times,
you're a total slob. You're very stable, but
undependable. But onto the other traits that
are associated with this color... You're a
stubborn person, simply put. Do you believe in
Feng Shui? Green is closely related to the
thought of having a balanced environment, you
know. When in a bad situation, you're
painfully pessimistic, and when you're in a
good situation, you're extremely optimistic. A
fairly outgoing and amused person, you enjoy
talking to people, and hearing their thoughts
on different things. As a plus, when people
hang around you, it seems like time passes by
all the more quickly.

What color are you? (Amazingly detailed & accurate--with pics!)
